A Real Client Story: Chronic Symptoms to Real Results

Hi Reader,

Happy New Year - and welcome to the first newsletter of the year!

I want to share a gut-healing story from my practice - one that could easily belong to any of you reading this.

Client K came to me tired - not just physically, but mentally tired of trying.

For three years, his life revolved around his gut.

Constipation that never quite resolved.
Bloating that showed up by evening no matter what he ate.
A burning sensation in his stomach that made him dread meals.
Fatigue that felt disproportionate to his day.
And a growing list of foods he no longer trusted to even have a morsel of, fearing the reaction.

The strangest part?
Protein - the thing everyone says you need to heal - made him feel worse (that is, he had a severe protein digestion issue).

So naturally, he did what most people do right from visiting the doctor and taking prescribed medications, suggested scans and blood tests. Everything came back “mostly fine.”

He went the extra mile:

He cleaned up his diet.
He removed certain foods.
He added supplements.

And that’s where the real confusion began.

When someone sits across from me in that state, I’m not thinking:

What protocol should I use?

I’m thinking:

What is this body struggling to do?

So instead of guessing, we decided to actually look inside the gut.

We ran a GI-MAP stool test - one I use often because it doesn’t just name microbes, it shows how digestion, inflammation, and gut immunity are functioning together.

And suddenly, his symptoms made sense.

His stomach wasn’t producing acid the way it should (a.k.a low stomach acid, not excess stomach acid!) - which explained the burning, the reflux, and why protein felt heavy instead of nourishing.

His pancreas wasn’t releasing enough digestive enzymes - so food wasn’t being broken down properly in the first place.

His gut lining was inflamed and stressed, not resilient.

And his gut’s immune system was exhausted, not overactive.

Plus hidden infections and overgrowths which no other test would have ever pointed out so accurately.

This wasn’t a gut that needed more discipline.
It was a gut that was struggling to digest, protect, and repair.

But the gut never exists in isolation.

We ran a Stress & Hormone Panel (another functional lab test like the GI MAP).

His cortisol stayed high late into the evening, when the body is meant to repair.
Testosterone was low.
Recovery wasn’t happening.

When we looked at his blood work, the story deepened.

His nutrient levels were low - not because he wasn’t eating well, but because absorption had been compromised for a long time.

Markers that quietly support digestion and hormones were off.
His liver - which plays a huge role in bile flow, metabolism, and gut health — was under strain.

Even his cholesterol was low, something most people are told is “good,” but which in this context meant the raw materials for healing and hormone production were missing.

And then there was stress.

So here was the real picture:

A gut that couldn’t digest properly.
A body low on reserves.
And a nervous system that never felt safe.

No amount of restriction or random supplements was going to fix that.

So we slowed things down.

We didn’t start with aggressive plans.
We didn’t chase every imbalance at once.

I built a phase by phase plan that supported the foundations, then addressed hidden infections and finally rebuilt for resilience.

We shifted his diet away from restriction and toward calming inflammation, using foods that soothed rather than provoked.

We focused on restoring nutrients slowly, because taking supplements means nothing if the body can’t use them.

We supported the liver, steadied blood sugar, and worked with his stress patterns instead of ignoring them.

Not forcefully. But Strategically.

Over the next nine months, things changed.

The bloating softened.
Constipation eased.
The burning stopped dominating his day.
Energy returned — not in spikes, but steadily.
Foods became food again, not threats.

About 80% of his symptoms were resolved.

But the bigger shift was this: His body stopped fighting him.

I’m sharing this story for one reason.

If you’re doing “all the right things” and still feel stuck, it’s not because you’re failing.

It’s often because your body hasn’t been given the right conditions to heal.

When digestion, inflammation, stress, and nutrient status are finally understood together, healing stops feeling mysterious.

It starts feeling logical. This is just one example of how deep investigation and tailored protocols change outcomes.

Issue #10, 27 May 2026 Everything you need to know about the GI-MAP comprehensive stool test Hi Reader, The GI-MAP is one of the most advanced functional stool tests currently available — and in chronic health cases, it can completely change the quality of information we have about the gut. Not because it magically diagnoses everything. But because it gives us measurable data about an area of health that is otherwise often approached through assumptions, symptom patterns, or trial-and-error...

Issue #9, 13 May 2026 Healthy Habits Stop Working When the Body Loses Resilience Hi Reader, One of the most confusing experiences for people dealing with chronic symptoms is watching “healthy habits” slowly stop working. The clean eating that once helped now barely moves the needle. Exercise leaves you more exhausted than energised. Fasting worsens cravings, anxiety, sleep, or fatigue. Supplements that were once supportive suddenly start causing bloating, headaches, reflux, or strange...

Issue #8, 22 Apr 2026 5 Blood Markers I Always Check When Symptoms Are Chronic Hi Reader, Most people who’ve done blood work believe they’ve already “checked everything.” A few standard markers, a quick glance at the reference range, and if nothing is flagged — they’re told everything looks fine. And yet, the symptoms remain. Energy isn’t consistent.Digestion isn’t stable. Hormones aren’t balanced. Things feel slightly off — but never enough to be taken seriously. The gap here is a lack of...
